1A) DE Squat Cambered SSB Spider Bar 8x2 @ 416lb + Doubled Light Bands
2A) DE Deadlift (1st pin) 6x1 @ 436lb, 6x1 @ 326 + Quadrupled Mini Bands
*after demolishing ourselves on Saturday, today was a pretty heavy let
down. I expected it so it was just a matter of getting through the work
but today was pretty nasty nonetheless.
We have had a pretty incredible 3 month run of PR filled Saturdays and today was no different. Big Shane PR'd his deadlift at 556 moving him just 44 lbs from a major milestone. Ry PR'd both his front squat at 305 (just missed 315) and his deadlift at 386. RJ pr'd his sumo deadlift this week at 386 and his conventional deadlift last week came in at 365..both came easily and with some technique work he will soon hit 400 on both. Tom also PR'd his deadlift today at 300. I could not be more proud of the hard work and success that our crew has put in and achieved. We all have similar yet different goals but one thing remains the same, the success of the group as a whole will forever reign as priority #1...nobody gets left behind.
What a day...not many know this but about 18 mos ago I was completely demolished mentally because of the way I was programming for myself. I wanted 600 on the deadlift so badly that I was overtraining myself severely. What ended up happening was a severe case of CNS fatigue, mental lapses, and a fear of the deadlift. I've been able to right the ship this year. I have adjusted my training to best suit me, and have seen awesome gains. I set a goal for myself to hit 700 by the end of 2011 and today was my day. This lift meant more than any other i've achieved so far due to the relationship that we have..haha. It's one of love and hate! I still have not overcome my fear of the deadlift, but I feel comfortable enough in my approach to it in training that I will continue to see gains.

*First time using SSB for speed work and I enjoyed it. I'm really making an effort to add even more new and fresh things to training lately and look forward to the next few weeks of speed work especially.
